About the project

PIVO is a digital platform that supports trucking fleet managers by helping them locate the nearest verified car repair shops, based on a driver’s current location.

Targeting small to mid-sized logistics companies operating across Europe (10–100 trucks), the app aims to simplify the fleet support workflow, empowering teams to quickly coordinate assistance using location-based data and a curated provider database.

Unlike real-time tracking systems, PIVO focuses purely on rapid, relevant coordination. A driver shares their issue and location, via a messaging tool like WhatsApp and the support team uses the PIVO dashboard to find and connect with the most relevant service in proximity.

The longer-term goal? Evolve into a network hub for service providers, who can apply to join, manage their presence and build visibility in a growing ecosystem.

Challenges

Building a solution tailored to this operational context came with several key challenges:

  • Multiple user roles and interfaces
    Balancing two main user journeys: service providers managing their own data and fleet managers searching for and booking services.
  • Security and data integrity
    Protecting sensitive data, such as fleet movement, maintenance history and contact details.
  • Brand identity & user experience
    Building a trustworthy, modern and user-friendly brand to appeal to both B2B logistics companies and local service providers.

Solution

We approached the MVP in multiple coordinated phases, covering everything from architecture and UX design to branding and launch readiness.

Backend development (via Intrexx, through low-code development)

  • Built a RESTful API architecture using low-code to support modular backend logic
  • Developed endpoints for location lookup, service filtering, booking management and account settings
  • Integrated secure authentication and role-based access to segment fleet managers and service providers
  • Designed smart data validation and error handling across endpoints

Frontend development (React + Material UI)

  • Developed a fully integrated frontend web interface using React and Material UI
  • Implemented interactive maps for proximity-based service search
  • Created tailored dashboards for:
    • Service providers: manage services, update contact info, review analytics
    • Fleet managers: locate services, manage account data, view service history

UX & branding

  • Conducted market and competitor research to align the experience with real-world fleet needs
  • Created wireframes, high-fidelity mockups and a brand style guide
  • Developed the PIVO landing page, tone of voice, logo and illustration assets

Results

The PIVO MVP is now in the beta testing phase, as a functional web app designed to simplify support operations for truck fleets. It helps fleet managers locate nearby verified services, reducing expected downtime and response times.

During this phase, user feedback will guide further refinements, helping shape a more robust version of the platform. The current setup already demonstrates the potential to improve operational clarity without overcomplicating workflows, thanks to its dual user interface for service providers and support teams.

Alongside technical delivery, we also developed a cohesive brand identity and a polished landing page to support adoption and positioning.

Perspective

PIVO showcases how practical digitalization can address operational inefficiencies in overlooked segments like roadside fleet support. By building a platform that meets real-world needs with modern tools and design thinking, we helped our client move from scattered, manual processes to a centralized, scalable solution.

The MVP is now test-ready and undergoing real-world testing with the client. Based on feedback from this phase, we expect to expand the platform further, adding deeper analytics and tighter integrations with dispatch and support tools.
